ERASMUS+ INCOMING MOBILITY AT CUT-ACADEMIC YEAR 2020-2021
The Application Procedure for an interested incoming Erasmus student at CUT is the following:
All incoming students wishing to come to Cyprus University of Technology as Erasmus students must be OFFICIALLY NOMINATED by their home universities. A valid Erasmus+ bilateral agreement for the academic year 2020-2021 must be in place prior to the mobility between the student’s home university and Cyprus University of Technology in the relevant subject area.
OFFICIAL NOMINATION PROCEDURE
There are no Nomination deadlines at our University for Student Exchanges for Studies. There are only deadlines for submitting the application documents which are as follows:
- Autumn semester (September-December) or full academic year (September-May) : 30th of June 2020
- Spring semester (January-May) : 15th November

The nomination must include the following information for each student:

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINES
Erasmus+ exchange application documents must must be uploaded on the CUT PORTAL by July 30th for students coming for Fall and full academic year and November 15th for students coming for the Spring semester.
ERASMUS+ APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
- Learning-Agreement-STUDIES-2020-2021– While we are happy to sign partners’ Learning Agreements, we have to use the one issued to us by our National Agency, so please make sure your students submit the correct version!
- Recent Transcript of Records from home university
- Official proof of knowledge of English (e.g. IELTS, IGCSE, TOEFL etc)minimum level B2
- Copy of Identity /Passport
- Copy of the European Health Card
ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION
Erasmus Students can apply for accommodation as soon as they receive an acceptance letter on the part of the Erasmus Office and not before. Accommodation options, such as residences situated outside the campus or accommodation in private houses with other students are all within walking distance from the campus. Students are invited to contact incoming@cut.ac.cy for further information on available accommodation.
Student Housing is available for a limited number of Students. Early nomination increases the chances for securing affordable accommodation for your students. We follow a strict first come first serve policy!

LANGUAGE POLICY FOR INCOMING STUDENTS
Greek is the official language of instruction at CUT.
Incoming students are expected to have knowledge of the English language up to level B2 at least. They should include in their application documents official language examination certificates, such as TOEFL, IGCSE or a similar language proof. In case these are not available the students must present a certificate from their home university which verifies their knowledge of English Language up to level B2 and at the same time indicate the courses and level of English attended on their Transcript of Records. It is up to the host department to decide whether this certificate is considered enough for the student’s acceptance.
The medium of English is used in order to facilitate incoming students through one to one tutorials, project based assignments, given bibliography and exams for courses that are pre-agreed with the academics in the relevant departments. Check carefully whether your modules will run in the first or second semester.
Language Centre
Greek but also other language courses are available at the University´s Language Center.(French, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian)
GREEK LANGUAGE COURSE
Incoming students are expected to attend the Greek Language course offered by the Language Centre of the University.

RECOGNITION OF COURSES
Incoming students and their home university receive an original Transcript of Records with all the subjects, corresponding ECTS credits and grades that were achieved during the exchange period.
Grading Scale
The grading system is numeric from 0 to 10 rounded to the nearest half unit and 5 is the passing grade. A student must satisfy the program requirements as described in the University’s prospectus corresponding to the year of entry: |

For each course, the number of credits is multiplied by the numerical value of the ordinal grade received to obtain the Grade Points: Then, calculate the semester grade point average by dividing the sum of grade points by the sum of the semester credits:(Sum of Grade Points) / (Sum of Semester Credits) = Semester Grade Point Average |
OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION
Insurance policy for Students who have received the acceptance letter:
Concerning health and safety issues, please note that all incoming students are to deposit the amount of 10,00 EUR prior to the beggining of the study period. CUT insurance policy covers undergraduate and graduate students registered at CUT for around the clock, 365 days a year, regardless of whether they are in the University Campus or anywhere else in the Republic of Cyprus. The compensation concerns death claims caused by accident , claims for permanent disability and medical expenses incurred by accident.

Kindly note that the amount of 10,00 EUR is not refundable.
In case of accident, the student should inform the Erasmus and the Careers Office, within 3 days via email incoming@cut.ac.cy and careers@cut.ac.cy in order for the accident to be acknowledged by the insurance company. Please note that at times exceptions can be applied in a contract, and in case of an accident you should always get advice from the authorized officer via email at careers@cut.ac.cy

After the company’s notification and within 30 days from the day of the accident, the student should submit directly to the insurance company the document titled as «ENTYPO APOZIMIOSIS (English)/ Claim Form » completely filled. The student should submit the claim and paperwork in an envelope (C/O Benefits Department Liberty Life), without any charge via any ACS courier shop or via the Erasmus Office. Please note that in the envelope it is required to send the attached form completely filled out, including all receipts of payments related to the accident as well as all results of any diagnostic medical tests and investigations related to the accident.

Student Life- Student Clubs -Sports
Erasmus students can participate to various students clubs. The University also offers a complete programme of athletic activities.
Presentations will be given during the orientation week regarding the Students Clubs and Sports at Cyprus University of Technology.
