The Erasmus Student Charter

Erasmus+ is a two-way promise. This is what you can expect from CUT and your host university at every stage — and what they can expect from you.

Your mobility, stage by stage

Before you go

Set up for success

  • A fair, transparent selection based on published criteria.
  • A Learning Agreement, signed by you, CUT and the host, that fixes your courses and credits up front.
  • A Grant Agreement setting out your funding — with no tuition fees to pay at the host university.
  • Clear information on recognition, insurance and practical arrangements.
While you’re abroad

Treated as a local student

  • The same treatment, services and academic support as host students.
  • No extra fees for tuition, registration, exams or lab/library access.
  • Help if your Learning Agreement needs changes within the allowed window.
  • A named contact at CUT and at the host for anything that comes up.
When you return

Full recognition, no lost time

  • Automatic recognition of the credits agreed in your Learning Agreement.
  • Results recorded in your Transcript of Records and Diploma Supplement.
  • The final part of your grant once your survey and documents are in.
  • Your voice in the EU participant report that improves the programme.

Rights and responsibilities

The charter cuts both ways — a short version of the two lists.

You are entitled to
  • Fair and transparent selection and treatment.
  • A signed Learning Agreement before you leave.
  • No fees at the host university.
  • Full academic recognition of agreed credits.
  • The support and services host students receive.
You are expected to
  • Complete the Online Learning Agreement and keep it up to date.
  • Take the online language assessment where required.
  • Respect the rules and academic obligations of the host.
  • Communicate promptly about any changes to your plan.
  • Complete the EU participant survey after your mobility.

Something not right? If a host university doesn't honour the charter — or you need confidential help — the CUT Students Ombuds is there for you, independently of your department.
