Semester Exchange
Spend one or two semesters studying abroad. Full credit transfer, guaranteed funding, and zero delays to your graduation.
1. Where Can You Go?
You cannot go just anywhere. Erasmus+ exchanges are based on specific bilateral agreements between your specific CUT Academic Department and a partner university in Europe. You can only apply for places allocated to your department.
2. Are You Eligible?
- Students are required to have successfully finished their first year of study at CUT.
- Each student is eligible for up to twelve months of Erasmus+ mobility per degree cycle.
- Important Note: Applications for mobility placements within your country of permanent residence will receive the lowest priority for approval and funding.
3. The Golden Rule: Academic Recognition
Warning: 25 ECTS Minimum
Prior to departure, you need to obtain official pre-approval from your Academic Department for a minimum of 25 ECTS credits. Applications lacking this departmental approval will face automatic rejection.
Your courses abroad must have similar or complementary learning outcomes to your CUT program, though they do not have to be identical. Your Departmental Erasmus Coordinator is the person who will guide you and ultimately approve your Learning Agreement.
4. How We Choose: The Point System
The central Erasmus Committee evaluates all applications monthly, ranks candidates, and allocates the available seats (20 seats available for 2026/27).
Year of Study
3rd and 4th-year students get the highest priority, followed by 2nd-year students.
Academic Grades
Your overall GPA carries significant weight (GPA x 2 points).
Language Skills
Extra points are awarded for high proficiency (C1/C2) in the host language.
First-Timers
Students who haven’t done Erasmus before get priority over those who have.
The “Use It Or Lose It” Rule: If you are granted a preliminary seat but fail to secure your course equivalencies within 2 months, your approval is canceled, and your seat is given to the next student on the list.
5. Funding & Grants
- Receive a monthly grant based on your destination country (€490 – €600).
- Receive an additional travel allowance based on distance.
- Students with fewer opportunities receive an extra €250 per month top-up.
