Grading system at CUT
Grading Scale
The grading system is numeric from 0 to 10 rounded to the nearest half unit and 5 is the passing grade. A student must satisfy the program requirements as described in the University’s prospectus corresponding to the year of entry:

Calculation of Semester Grade Point Average (GPA) |

For each course, the number of credits is multiplied by the numerical value of the ordinal grade received to obtain the Grade Points: Then, calculate the semester grade point average by dividing the sum of grade points by the sum of the semester credits:(Sum of Grade Points) / (Sum of Semester Credits) = Semester Grade Point Average |
Visa requirements
Our institution will provide assistance, when required, in securing visas for incoming and outgoing students/staff, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. Information and assistance can be provided by the following contact points and information sources:

We advise students to plan very early their application of a student entry visa in Cyprus. Please always contact both incoming@cut.ac.cy and the Migration Department as information may regularly change.
Insurance
Insurance policy
Concerning health and safety issues, please note that the insurance policy covers undergraduate and graduate students registered at CUT (including visiting students) for around the clock, 365 days a year, regardless of whether they are in University or internship sites ( not applicable for erasmus traineeships) or anywhere
else in Cyprus. The compensation concerns claims for death caused by accident, claims for permanent disability and medical expenses incurred by accident. Please note that Erasmus Students placed in Companies must also contact the companies themselves with reference to their internal insurance policy scheme.

Student Housing is available for a limited number of Students. Early nomination increases the chances for securing affordable accommodation for your students. We follow a strict first come first serve policy!

Student and Staff with Disability
The University is pleased to welcome students and staff with disability.
Please note that support services and infrastructure (i.e. accommodation) is subject to availability.
The Student Development Center hosts three study-rooms for students with severe motion problems for group study, tutorial support and individual reading
A support study room also operates for people with disabilities that works with specialized educational assistive technology equipment including:
- Braille System
- Video Magnifier (magnifier Writing / Visual)
- Portable fm system for use by students with hearing problems
- Talking calculators
- Keyboards for use by students with motion problems
- Touch & Ball mouse for use by students with motion problems
All students with disabilities and health problems are entitled to the following facilities according to the Rules for supporting people with disabilities of the Cyprus University of Technology:
- Time extension of 30 minutes at the interim and final examinations
- Grade is not affected by spelling / syntax errors
- Support in the event of medical incidents
- Support in taking notes / taking examinations
- Assistant/Support in case of blind students/ students with quadriplegia
- Course Notes
- Class recording
- Individual examination in the room for people with disabilities
- Free tutoring support in two courses of their choice per semester
In order to join the Student Development Centre support program, students should provide the necessary medical certificates and afterwards they are being informed on everything they are eligible of depending on the problem they encounter.
