The Erasmus Student Charter outlines your rights and obligations during your participation in the Erasmus+ program. It is designed to ensure you have a clear understanding of what to expect and what is expected of you while studying, training, or interning abroad.

  • Your Rights as an Erasmus Student:
    • Receive guidance on the application process and information about the host institution or organization.
    • Obtain a pre-financing payment within 30 days of signing the grant agreement or upon confirmation of arrival, and no later than the start date of the mobility period.
    • Access information on automatic recognition procedures and the grading system of the host institution.
    • Receive assistance with insurance, housing, visa requirements (if applicable), and support services for special needs.
  • Your Responsibilities as an Erasmus Student:
    • Sign a grant agreement with your home institution and a learning agreement with both home and host institutions, detailing the activities abroad to ensure automatic recognition of your mobility period.
    • Complete an online language assessment through the Online Language Support platform to evaluate your proficiency and access tailored language learning resources.
    • Ensure you have appropriate health insurance coverage for your stay abroad. For traineeships, also secure liability and accident insurance.
  • Your Rights as an Erasmus Student:
    • Be treated equally to local students or employees, without discrimination based on age, ethnic origin, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other irrelevant distinctions.
    • Enjoy academic freedom in sharing ideas and conducting research.
    • Benefit from networks of mentors and buddies at the host institution or organization.
    • Access information about student organizations, governance, quality assurance systems, and support services at the host institution.
  • Your Responsibilities as an Erasmus Student:
    • Respect the rules and regulations of the host institution or organization.
    • Complete the agreed-upon activities as outlined in your learning agreement.
    • Communicate promptly with your home institution regarding any changes or issues during your mobility period.
  • Your Rights as an Erasmus Student:
    • Receive full recognition from your home institution for satisfactorily completed activities, as specified in your learning agreement.
    • Obtain a transcript of records or a traineeship certificate from the host institution or organization within a stipulated period.
    • Provide feedback on your Erasmus+ experience through participant reports or surveys.
  • Your Responsibilities as an Erasmus Student:
    • Submit any required documentation to your home institution to facilitate recognition of your mobility period.
    • Share your experiences to help improve the Erasmus+ program for future participants.
